This is what I transform into the moment I strap on that guitar and hit the first chord on Guitar Hero II. Full moon is to wolf man, as the X-plorer 360 guitar is to my inner 80’s hair band.

As blasphemy as it is; I never actually owned Guitar Hero for the Playstation 2, so I was full on noob when it came to Guitar Hero when it hit the Xbox 360 this past week. I made sure to grab a copy the moment it hit shelves and rushed home to get my rock on.

I have to say, I’m having a lot more fun on this game then I thought I was going to. I didn’t doubt it lived up to its hype, and would be a fun game, but I was sucked into this baby from the moment I played the first song, despite being absolutely horrible at the damn thing.

This game is addicting. I found myself playing it until 4 am that first night, rocking my way through EASY. Sad… I know. When I see some of these guys tearing it up on Expert…. I’ll work my way there. I can honestly say I earned my “Fail a song on EASY” achievement.

Regardless, I’m getting better, and the better I get the more addicting it becomes. Trying to nail a perfect song, or scoring a perfect five stars, before I bump up the difficulty. So if you’re a Guitar Hero newbie like myself, don’t let it stop you from picking this up. Kinda steep at a $89.99 price tag, but I can vouch that its well worth the extra dough.
