Alright; I’m 100% convinced this new Tom Clancy viral site is for a new game that merges the storylines and teams from all three Tom Clancy franchises (Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon). The hints provided in my previous post (link) combined with the fact that the official sites for all three games have just updated with news posts concerning terrorist acts / events in different locations around the world which are directly mentioned in the radio chatter heard on the viral site confirmed all three teams are involved. The news posts below:

Ghost Recon Update (click to enlarge)

Now, listen to the ‘news’ radio chatter on the Viral site, and eventually the reporter will mention briefly each of these events and / or locations the events take place in the radio chatter. Which leads to my conclusion that the events which unfolded in the three latest Tom Clancy titles, somehow directly or indirectly caused the events of this new title and will require the presence of all three teams / units to handle it.

Any additional facts, speculation, conspiracy theories welcomed.

What we do know:

- Its a Tom Clancy Game (Clancy logo at the bottom)
- It mentions the Ghost team (Audio with Ghost Lead).
- It mentions Cross Com (could reference GRAW or since its 2028 could be any future military force)
- In the META tags it mentions Ghosts, Splinter Cell, and Rainbow Six (See: Meta tags)
- The radio audio references locales from all the series (i.e Mexico City, El Paso Texas)
- All the latest Clancy titles ended in ‘to be continued’ with the main character(s) in a compromised position.
- The radio audio discusses a global war taking place in the US, Europe, and Asia.
- The radio audio says the US capitol in Washington is gone, new temp capitol in Boston.
- US east coast has been invaded.
- 2028 Olympic games in Brazil cancelled.
- It mentions Splinter Cells being active.
- It contains audio of Splinter Cell tech being activated.
- It references ’special ops teams’, ‘ghost team’, ’splinter cells’.
- JSF = Joint Strike Fighter (program) or Joint Strike Forces

Any other info gathered? Based on what I’ve seen / heard I’m leaning more towards a new title that combines the storylines and teams of all three series. Considering all three teams are mentioned and referenced too several times on the site directly (via meta tags) and indirectly (via text and audio).

Not to mention all three ended ‘to be continued’ with all their main characters in questionable situations. Plus all three story lines could easily tie into each other from the latest three games, many tied into enemy activity in Mexico City, the El Paso border, both Rainbow and Ghost teams training in Mexico during the last games.

Any thoughts?

Splinter Cell: Console Killer

Console Murder.

1930 hrs. 20/10/2006 -

The exterior perimeter was breached around 1900 hrs. last night, setting off the interior alarms and activating the security sensors. I proceeded to the upper level com room where the X360 unit is being housed to ensure its safety. I quickly noticed I was not alone. A ventilation shaft had been removed from a section of the ceiling, and from the disarray of the desks beneath, I could tell the interior of the room had been breached.

I immediately removed my sidearm and proceeded to the location of the X360 unit. I caught a visual of the target, moving swiftly away from the known location of the X360 unit. I opened fire, sending two shots down range, missing the target. The figure promptly made a hasty and unconventional exit through the northside exterior window.

I made chase after the subject and opened fire as he made his way across the exterior courtyard, taking cover behind several exterior compound walls.

Visual On Target.

The subject escaped through a improvised breech in the exterior wall. However, we tracked his path to the docks and lost him. We did recover the X360 unit, however…. somethings wrong.

The target seemed to have disabled a key feature in the unit. We’ve attempted to reactive it with no avail, when we activate its power supply it begins to flash three red LED lights repeatedly. I repeat. X360 has been disabled. Send support. Without it we are lost.

I repeat. X360 has been disabled. Send support. Without it we are lost.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent

I had a run in with Sam Fisher last night as I tryed out the latest in the Splinter Cell series.

Needless to say, the meeting did not end in my favor.

Upon attempting to play the first mission, it began to freeze and prompt me to restart.

After several freezes and restarts during the first mission it eventually [within the hour] quit turning on period.

In addition, I started to recieve the ‘3 red lights of death’ from the Ring of Light. Indicating a hardware failure.

Being that I had one of the first wave consoles, I wasn’t surprised that this would happen at some point.

Have no fear however, I have another one being picked up as we speak, and plan to have no gaming interruptions.

Sam Fisher: Console Covert

From what I got to play of Splinter Cell: Double Agent, it was amazingly impressive. The graphics were superb, as they always are with Tom Clancy / Ubisoft titles. Which I suspect was the cause of the meltdown of my system.

In all reality, I don’t actually blame the game or Ubisoft for the malfunction, the console was obviously having some issues, and I believe the intense graphics and processor demand of this superior next-gen game was the straw on the camel’s back.

So no hard feelings Sam Fisher, for the assassination of my X360 Unit.

Besides, if this didn’t happen, what excuse would I have to make that awesome graphic of Sam Fisher stealing my Xbox360? Exactly.

As I said, I am having another console sent over this afternoon or this weekend. So hopefully I’ll be back in the game in no time.

There are way too many great titles hitting the shelves to be out of commission for any length of time.
