E3 week is coming…

I’ll be doing constant updates throughout E3 next week as I make my way around from Press Conference to Press Conference to Booth, to show off Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare personally to everyone along with IW Strike Team Bravo. So if you’re attending E3 or any of the press conferences, scout me out and say hey.

For those not attending E3, please enjoy our humble E3 trailer to tide you over until I report back with all our Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare announcements!

While I was all for keeping the suspense going right up until Saturday, the cat is out of the bag, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has been announced, but thats not the BIG part. The fact that I’m excited about, is not only is it announced today, but it will be revealed (thats right, I’m talking FIRST LOOK) this Saturday during the NFL Draft (also online during TBA).

I won’t ruin the surprise, and give any details away about what you’ll see, but trust me…. you won’t be disappointed.

The Info:

This Saturday, April 28th 2007, will be the worldwide reveal and first look at Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Tune into the ESPN NFL Draft during 10 AM PST / 1 AM EST to be among the first to view the trailer, which will be immediately available online afterwards with a little extra surprise for your viewing pleasure.

Meanwhile, feel free to discuss it all before-hand, and especially after you see it over at the COD4:MW forum.

The Grand Theft Auto IV Trailer teaser site launched quite a while ago with nothing but a stylish IV logo and a countdown timer to the launch of the first look at the game.

How exciting… well… yeah.. if it worked.

Today the Countdown timer made its way to ZERO with millions of eager Fanbois happily ready to cream themselves over the sites and sounds of the first GTA since early 2000’s.

As soon as that bad boy hit ZERO, the site crashed. Giving ‘Cannot Connect To Server’ and ‘Time Out’ errors at the very attempt to refresh. The same goes for the Xbox.com site with the same timer, and I assume anywhere else with the trailer.

Apparently its on Xbox Live Marketplace now, so maybe I’ll be able to see it there, but my guess is the amount of people currently downloading it will mean that will crash (or be extremely slow download) for quite a while.

However; the fact that I, and many others were watching that timer when it hit ZERO, means they did they’re job. Nice work guys. Nice work.

Now if I can only see what the game looks like.

Release: March 20th, 2007

We’re not even three months in, and 2007 is already shaping up to be the best year of my life…

In terms of awesome media that is… you know.. not like ever or anything.

I mean come on… first a new Die Hard movie, then rumors of a new Indiana Jones.

And now, If you didn’t already know, theres a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie hitting down this year.

I know… I know… a flood of childhood memories hittin’ ya eh?

Yeah, its not the live action Turtles we knew and love, but after Turtles In Time, I think we were tapping the well on that one. The new CGI film vows to stay true to the TMNT comic-book series more so than anything.

In addition, and the purpose for this post, Ubisoft has stepped up to the plate, and put up the change for the Video Game adaptation of the new film. While I’ve seen more than a few horrible movie license titles come out of Ubisoft, nothing against them… movie license games are typically of the horrible variety, overall Ubisoft is one of my favorite publishers [/rant], it appears that they’ll be taking the game in the vein of Prince of Persia.

The good news is, you can check it out for yourself. The game will be released on pretty much every platform they can get it on, including Xbox 360, Wii, and PC. While I’m not sure if we’ll be seeing a 360 demo pre-launch of the game, today I was sent over a nice PC Demo that’ll at least give you a feel for what to expect.

So whats the verdict?

Look like a game you plan on picking up?

I am hyped for a TMNT game period, I don’t care what it is. The PC demo pretty much blows chunks in terms of visuals and gameplay, but regardless I’ll probably end up picking it up for pure nostalgia reasons.

I’m a sucker for anything that could stir up some childhood memory goodness, but overall I think the finished product is going to have some decent gameplay that will make the purchase worthwhile. So for the moment, we’ll put this in the Skeptical but still sorta hyped category.
